Please stand for our morning prayer.
We remember that we are in the presence of God.
Let us pray together as a school community in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Loving Father, united in the Heart of Jesus your Son, we offer you all we are and all the work we will do today in our classes and activities. May the love you have poured out into our hearts by the Holy Spirit overflow through our words and actions into the hearts of all those we meet during this school day. Help us to accept in a positive way the challenges, the corrections, and the rules which being a student entails. May our response to them draw us closer to the example of sacrifice given to us by Jesus, your son and our Savior, who lives and reigns with you forever.
We ask all these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Saint Stanislaus, pray for us.
Will everyone please join me as we recite together the Pledge of Allegiance.
“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
Please remain standing until the dress and grooming check have been completed.
This is Andrew Trapani. I am talking to you this morning about a very unique and important mission we, as a school, now have over the next week. As many of you know, the southeast coast of Texas was decimated by Hurricane Harvey about a week ago. Near the center of the destruction is a school called Sacred Heart Catholic, in Rockport. Student Council, as well as the diocese, has seen fit that, as a unit, the Catholic schools in our area will band together to raise funds for the restoration and aid of Sacred Heart Catholic School. What the kids at Sacred Heart are going through should be no stranger to many of us that were in Katrina here on the coast. It was an extremely chaotic and stressful time for us and our parents due to the loss of friends and family as well as the majority of our houses. As a school community, next week, we will be raising funds and collecting donations in various ways. In this time of need the student council challenges each and every one of you to understand the severity of the situation and the urgency we must use in our fundraising. With that being said, starting today and ending next Friday, September 8th, we will be collecting any donations you and your parents wish to send in. This is a time when we are called to serve those in need. We encourage you to give whatever you can because every penny counts. We will be placing money drop buckets throughout campus today. Even though the deadline for the diocese is September 8th we would like to continue helping in any way we can long past the deadline….the way many people helped us twelve years ago. Thanks and have a great day.
Last night, the SSC swim team defeated Pearl River by a score of 111 to 58. John Prikasky, Alexander Fuller, Boyd Housey, Peyton Cabell, and Jacob Kurka all lead the way by winning individual events, and SSC won all three relays. Great job, Aquarocks!
