Housey and Raymond Named 2018 Valedictorians

We are proud to announce Boyd Housey and Michael Raymond as the Valedictorians of the Class of 2018. Boyd and Michael were formally recognized during commencement exercises on Saturday, May 26, at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis. Boyd and Michael each graduated with a cumulative weighted grade point average of 4.52.

Boyd Patrick Housey
Boyd, son of Mary and John Housey of Pass Christian, MS, was named the 2018 Saint Stanislaus STAR Student. He achieved President’s Honor Roll every semester throughout high school. Boyd was a member of the Brother Peter Basso Chapter of the National Honor Society and a three-year member of the Saint Stanislaus Quiz Bowl team. As a six-year letterman of the Saint Stanislaus Rock-A-Chaw swim team, Boyd was a two-time captain and a member of the 2016 State Championship team.

Outside of school, Boyd sails for the Southern Yacht Club. He was recognized as the Most Outstanding Junior Sailor in 2015 and was named the Southern Yacht Club Junior Team Captain in 2015 and 2016. Boyd previously served as the Rear Commodore for the Gulf Yachting Association.

Housey plans to study Finance at Georgetown University.

 

 

Michael Kurt Raymond
Michael, son of Carol and Kurt Raymond of Diamondhead, MS, has earned the President’s Honor Roll for all eight semesters of his high school career. Michael was a member of the Brother Peter Basso Chapter of the National Honor Society and a three-year member of the Saint Stanislaus Quiz Bowl team and two-year member of Mu Alpha Theta. Michael was a Saint Stanislaus Student Minister and a Kairos Retreat Team Group Leader. He also participated in the Saint Stanislaus sponsored Navajo Mission (Klagetoh, AZ) and Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) Mission Trips.

Michael was a four-year letterman for both the Saint Stanislaus Cross Country and Track and Field Teams and was recognized for achieving Academic Excellence each season. He was the cross country team Captain both his junior and senior years and a member of the 2014 MHSAA 4A State Championship Cross Country Team.

Outside of school, Michael participated in the Hancock Youth Leadership during his junior and senior years.

Raymond will attend the University of Mississippi Honors College and study Biology.
