Parent-School Communication

Good communication between parents and the school is essential. Some of the methods the school uses include a principal’s bi-monthly email newsletter to parents, a monthly calendar of events, report cards each quarter, real-time access to your son’s grades through PowerSchool, disciplinary notices when necessary, and, of course, phone calls and letters. Parents should notify the school office upon any change in address, phone numbers (cell, home, work), or email address.

Emergency Notification Procedure

In the event of a general emergency (e.g., a hurricane, other circumstances), parents should check with local media for information regarding the closing of school, specifically WLOX-TV in Gulfport and WWL-TV in New Orleans as well as WWL radio (870 AM and 105.3 FM). If resident students need to be evacuated from school, parents will be contacted by telephone. To keep students and parents informed, we will post information to the home page on www.ststan.com, as well as to our Facebook page. We also use an automated message system, SchoolReach, which enables us to get our announcement out to all parents almost simultaneously.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled at the beginning of the year and the beginning of the second semester. The dates of these meetings are announced in the principal’s monthly newsletter and are on our yearly calendar on our website. Aside from these meetings, parents should feel free to phone to make an appointment with school or residency department personnel to discuss their son’s progress.

The president, principal, assistant principals, and faculty can be contacted through the school at 228-467-9057. The school office opens each school morning at 8:00 AM. Though teachers cannot be called from class to answer the phone, messages can be left with the receptionist until 4:00 p.m. or on voice mail at any time.

The director of residency and dorm prefects can be contacted in their offices by dialing 228-467-9057 and the appropriate extension given in the directory.
