We look forward to leaving for Klagetoh tomorrow morning. Please pray with us for the blessings we will need.
Give us hearts to understand
That we have forgotten who we are.
We have sought only our own security.
We have exploited simply for our own ends.
We have distorted our knowledge.
We have abused our power.
Whose dry lands thirst,
Help us to find the way to refresh your lands
And to refresh the presence of your Being deep down in ours.
Klagetoh Send Off
On behalf of the missionaries we are sending to Klagetoh over the Easter break, I would like to thank you all for your support over the past several weeks. Please keep us in your prayers as we travel to Arizona and give of ourselves in service to others.
I would also like to invite each of you and your families to our send off tomorrow morning. At 10 am in DiBoll Plaza, our missionaries will be led in a traditional Native American sending ceremony with Mr. Dan Romano, Warrior Spirit. Dan is a proud supporter of SSC and also a member of the Mohegan Tribe. He will perform a special prayer service for our missionaries. It is a unique and touching experience and we invite all of you to come and be a part of it. The missionaries will depart from the Bookter Street parking lot shortly after this ceremony.
The junior varsity and varsity baseball teams once again swept a pair of games from cross-town rival Bay High last night. The junior varsity won 4-0. In varsity action, the Rocks won 10-0 in six innings. Nick Hertz pitched a complete game allowing three hits while striking out 10. Brendan Logan led the Rocks at the plate with 4 hits. Sonny Valentine and Levi Knight each added 2 hits. Nick Hertz, Jack Putnam, and JD Rutherford each added a hit.
With the win, the Varsity Rocks claimed the Division 8-4A Championship. The Baseball Rock will next be in action Monday April 17th against Ocean Springs for Senior Night. Game times are 5:00 and 7:00. The Mississippi 4A State Playoffs will begin Friday April 21st with a home game against Florence. Please come out and support your Baseball Rocks!
On Tuesday, the tennis team will play their first round of playoffs in Columbia, MS at 4:00 PM.
