Please stand for our morning prayer.
We remember that we are in the presence of God.
Let us pray together as a school community in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, we offer you our prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day for all the intentions of your Sacred Heart, in union with the celebration of the Mass throughout the world, in reparation for sin, for the intentions of our Holy Father Francis, and for the beatification of Venerable Brother Polycarp.
We ask all these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Saint Stanislaus, pray for us.
Will everyone please join me as we recite together the Pledge of Allegiance.
“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
Please remain standing until the dress and grooming check have been completed.
Despite a great effort and some very fast swimming, the boys were edged by Biloxi on Wednesday night
Scores were: SSC 169; Biloxi 180; D’Iberville 78; St. Martin 40.
Congrats to John Prikasky on breaking two individual school records in the 200 free and 100 fly, and also to the team of John, Boyd Housey, Peyton Cabell, and Alexander Fuller who broke the 400 free relay school record by three seconds.
The 7th and 8th grade football teams will travel to Pass Christian tonight with games at 5:00 and 6:30 PM.

The Senior Ring Mass will be held tonight at 7:00 PM at OLG church. All seniors will have practice during 7th and 8th periods today.
Senior teachers are reminded to please to walk over with your seniors to ring mass rehearsal today at the beginning of 7th period.
Everyone is invited to read the biographies of our 2017 Homecoming Court nominees, which are now displayed in the Resource Center. All students in grades 7 through 12 will have an opportunity to vote for our 2017 Homecoming Court next Wednesday, September 13th during both lunch periods in the small room of the College Cafe.
On Thursday and Friday of this week, Student Council Class Reps will be walking through the carpool line in the morning collecting donations for Sacred Heart Catholic School in Rockport, Texas. As you all heard last week, Sacred Heart Catholic was annihilated by Hurricane Harvey. The teachers and students have nothing left, and they are truly counting on us to send aid. With that being said, tell your rides to bring a few extra dollars to donate if they can! Every cent counts! Thank you all.
2017 Homecoming shirts are now available for pre-order. They can be ordered online from the Rock Shop website, or ask a Student Council member for a paper form. Pre-order by Monday to guarantee you’ll have your shirt in time for Spirit Week! A copy of the shirt design is posted on the activities board.
High school and junior high soccer tryouts will be held Friday, September 8th at 3:45 PM at the stadium. See Coach McRaney with questions.
8th Period OLA Students
SSC students who have an 8th period class at OLA should report to the resource center Friday afternoon for their 8th period class.
Students, please check the Activities Board for announcements concerning: Soccer, SCUBA, Quiz Bowl, and RC Club.
The lunch menu for today is BBQ chicken; or Italian BMT on bun; or grilled chicken salad.
Quote of the Day
The Quote of the Day today comes from St. Teresa of Avila, who said: “Remember that you have only one soul; that you have only one death to die; that you have only one life… If you do this, there will be many things about which you care nothing.”
Thanks for your attention. Ametur Cor Jesu!
