Announcements will be read at the beginning of 7th period today.
After leading the meet for over half the day, your Rock-A-Chaws finished in third place at the State Track & Field Championship. The Rocks were only out of first place by twelve points. Special congratulations to the whole team but especially these ten individuals for qualifying through three rounds of playoffs to qualify for the State Meet: William Weber, Taylor Necaise, Thomas Carter, Ryan Tyler, Landry Lemoine, Gabriel Griffith, Ja’Kobe Cameron, Brandon Bordelon, Alex Koons, and Dallas Payne. One final reminder – there will be a meeting today at 3:45 PM at the track for all track team members not in spring football.
The baseball Rocks lost last night to Sumrall 11-0 to end their season. Colin Frederickson and Cole Fletcher pitched for the Rocks. Dawson Strong had a double and Trace Rhodes added a single for the Rocks. The Baseball Rocks ended the season with a 25-9 record.
Thanks to all the students, faculty, and administration that came out to support the baseball Rocks during this season.
Student Council Elections
Student Council elections will be held this Thursday. The candidate list is posted on the Activities Board and info sheets will be posted in the Resource Center
All library accounts must be cleared by this Friday, May 10th. A list of students with library books checked out has been posted to the activities board. Students that have not cleared their account by Monday, May 13th will serve detention each day until it is cleared. Please see Ms. Brannin in the library if you have any questions.
The tennis Awards Convocation will be held tonight at 6:30 PM in the small dining room of the College Cafe. Dress for team members is shirt and tie and appropriate dress shoes.
The junior high baseball Awards Convocation will be held tomorrow, Wednesday May 8, at 7:00 PM in the small dining room of the College Cafe. Dress for team members is shirt and tie and appropriate dress shoes. All team members are expected to attend.
Track and Field
Attention all Track & Field team members: there will be a mandatory meeting at the track today at 3:45 PM. Bring your jerseys if you have not yet turned them in.
Caps and Gowns
Seniors, please see Mr Bezou if you need your cap and gown for various events before they are issued on the 19th.
The Rock-A-Chaw rockets dominated the Pearl River Blue Devils in playoff action last night winning in three straight games with a combined score of 24 to 1. Karl Legere led the charge with twelve goals. With this win, the rockets advance to the quarter finals on Thursday May 9th. The Rockachaw legends will face the West Harrison Hurricanes today at 4:00 PM in their quarter finals.
