Please stand for our morning prayer.
We remember that we are in the presence of God.
Let us pray together as a school community in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
God of all strength, this morning we seek your presence to begin the day, so that from this prayer we may take with us a positive attitude which will last us through the setbacks and the success of this day’s life. PAUSE Give us courage to be patient, not to give up hope when hopes are long in coming true, to accept disappointment without bitterness, and delay without complaint. Hear this, our morning prayer, in the name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and for the sake of those who need your presence most.
We ask all these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Saint Stanislaus, pray for us.
Will everyone please join me as we recite together the Pledge of Allegiance.
“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
Please remain standing until the dress and grooming check have been completed.
The swim team will compete at the Biloxi Natatorium today.
Everyone is invited to read the biographies of our 2017 Homecoming Court nominees, which are now displayed in the Resource Center. All students in grades 7 through 12 will have an opportunity to vote for our 2017 Homecoming Court next Wednesday, September 13th during both lunch periods in the small room of the College Cafe.
On Thursday and Friday of this week, Student Council Class Reps will be walking through the carpool line in the morning collecting donations for Sacred Heart Catholic School in Rockport, Texas. As you all heard last week, Sacred Heart Catholic was annihilated by Hurricane Harvey. The teachers and students have nothing left, and they are truly counting on us to send aid. With that being said, tell your rides to bring a few extra dollars to donate if they can! Every cent counts! Thank you all.
Any juniors and seniors interested in speaking with the admissions representative from Ole Miss should plan on getting their lunch first and joining Coach Hoffer in the small dining hall today during lunch.
High school and junior high soccer tryouts will be held Friday, September 8th at 3:45 PM at the stadium. See Coach McRaney with questions.
8th Period OLA Students
SSC students who have an 8th period class at OLA should report to the resource center Friday afternoon for their 8th period class.
Students, please check the Activities Board for announcements concerning: Environmental Club, Robotics, Drama, Soccer, SCUBA, Outdoor Club, Sailing, and RC Club.
The lunch menu for today is chili mac, or chicken sandwich on bun, or tuna salad.
Today is the birthday of 8th grader Brandon Rhodes, junior Ty Gilmore, and senior Nikolas Clogher. Happy birthday Brandon, Ty, and Nikolas! Have a great day today.
Quote of the Day
The Quote of the Day today comes from Saint John Paul II, who wanted us to remember what God tells us: “Have no fear of moving into the unknown. Simply step out fearlessly knowing that I am with you, therefore no harm can befall you; all is very, very well. Do this in complete faith and confidence.”
Thanks for your attention. Ametur Cor Jesu!
