200th anniversary celebration

Brothers of the Sacred Heart 200th Anniversary Celebration

The Brothers of the Sacred Heart around the globe are celebrating the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Institute in Lyon, France with a virtual celebration on Thursday, September 30, 2021.

Saint Stanislaus is proud to be the oldest continually-operating school of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart. Please join us in celebrating this milestone anniversary!

The Brothers invite members of our extended family to join in virtual festivities on January 11! Because of shipping complications related to Hurricane Ida, the virtual celebration scheduled for Thursday evening, September 20, 2021, has been moved to Tuesday, January 11, 2022. January 11 was chosen because it is the anniversary of the arrival of the first Brothers in the United States. These five Brothers arrived in Mobile, AL on January 11, 1847.

The Bicentennial Party will kick-off around dinner time (Central Time) with a prayer, a brief welcome, and of course, lots of good food and drink – all in your home! Everyone who chooses to participate will receive a bicentennial cookbook containing recipes of delicious French dishes created by chef alums of the Brothers’ schools. Participants are invited to request imported French cheeses, commemorative cheese boards, and special wine from grapes harvested near Lyon with a commemorative label.

To participate in this event, please select your wine and cheese items by clicking on the icon below. Your donation will be accepted after you have made all of your selections. The complimentary bicentennial cookbook will be sent to you as part of your request. Please note that deadlines have been changed because the date of the event has changed. Cheese orders must be made by Monday, November 1, 2021, and requests for wine by Wednesday, December 1, 2021.

If you are requesting wine and you reside in Mississippi, please contact Saint Stanislaus.
