Basketball

Saint Stanislaus has a rich and successful history in the sport of basketball, tracing back to 1913 when the basketball team captured their first title – the Gulf Coast Prep Championship.  Former head coach Jay Ladner spent 20 seasons, 1992 – 2011, building the Rocks into a perennial state contender and had numerous players continue their careers at the JUCO and NCAA Division I, II, and III levels. He won 500 games in his 20 seasons on the bench and brought home the program’s only state championship in 2011.  In the spring of 2021, Saint Stanislaus named Daniel Grieves the head basketball coach. Grieves ’11 helped lead the Rocks to the 2011 Class 4A state title.

Congratulations to the Junior High Rock-A-Chaws, who finished second in District IV Division 2 in the 2022-23 season. The Rock-A-Chaws lost 31 to 29 in the Championship Game against Bay before a large and enthusiastic crowd. Highlights from the game may be found here.
