2022

Running Rocks 3rd in MHSAA Class 3A State Championship  

The Running Rocks finished third place in track and field. Keegan Leverett won the 1600 and 3200 meter runs while Ryan Tyler won the discus throw. Chandler Chapman placed second in the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles. We finished third in the 4×800 meter relay (Keegan Leverett, Carson Leverett, Reed Fairley, Gus Breisacher). The Running Rocks ended the season with four new school records, the most in the program’s history. In addition, Keegan Leverett set two State Classification records in 3A for the 3200-meter run and the 1600-meter run.

2021

Running Rocks 2nd in MHSAA Class 4A State Championship  

The running rocks finished as Class 4A State runner-up in track and field. Keegan Leverett led the team with 2 first place finishes in both the 1600m and 3200m. Ryan Tyler finished second in discus. Chandler Chapman finished third in the 300H, and all of our relay teams made it on the podium for the first time in Saint Stanislaus track history.

The Track Team Wins the Division Title  

The track team won the divisional title every year from 1988 to 2001 except in 1994, 2004, and 2013-2018.

Gary Maitland wins class 4a high jump state title

Andy Brown wins the class 4a 300m hurdles state title in school record title

Clay Williams wins the class 4a state title in the high jump

Vince Moran wins class 4a state title in High Jump

In 1995, Moran was an All-American and set the Mississippi state record at seven feet. He signed with Mississippi State University following the season.

1920s

Milton “Hippo” Phillips, ’21, and Zeke Bonura, ’27, Javelin Stars 

Zeke Bonura won the national AAU title in San Francisco while he was a sophomore at Saint Stanislaus, setting a new record of 213’, 10.5” in 1925  Bonura became the youngest male athlete to win an event at the National Track and  Field Championships.
