Baseball Camp – june 2020

baseball camp – week of June 15th & June 22nd

This two-week camp is comprised of three sessions.
Skills session – focuses on baseball skills including hitting, fielding, throwing, position play & baserunning.
Hitting session – focuses specifically on hitting.
Pitchers & catchers session – focuses specifically on skills required for pitching and a catcher.

Skills session is open to young men & women 5 to 10. Hitting session and pitchers & catcher session is open to young men and women ages 8 to 14. Campers may sign up for one session, two sessions or all three.

Our experienced staff are trained in the proper techniques of teaching the fundamentals of baseball. Staff will focus on the insights of the game, proper technique, and fun. We strive to provide personal attention and instruction for every camper.

HITTRAX – TAKING YOUR GAME TO ANOTHER LEVEL

All campers will be able to take their game to a higher level by the use of HitTrax. HitTrax is an interactive real-time metrics software designed specifically for baseball hitters, pitchers, and catchers. Saint Stanislaus is the first high school in Mississippi to integrate the cutting-edge technology. Each camper’s information and progress is stored in the program and allows coaches and players themselves to an analyze their practices and focus on areas in which they need to improve

  • Focus on the fundamentals of baseball – hitting, fielding, throwing, position play and running skills.

  • Monday (6/22) – Tuesday (6/23) 9 AM – 12 PM
  • Focus on the fundamentals of hitting including swing mechanics, plate coverage drills, approach to the plate, mental hitting drills, and live hitting.

PITCHERS / CATCHERS CAMP – Ages 8 to 14

Schedule

  • Wednesday (6/24) – Tuesday (6/25) 9 AM – 12 PM
  • Focus on pitching and throwing mechanics to help increase velocity and functional strength.
  • Focus on every aspect of the catching position including stances, receiving, blocking, throwing, all fielding skills and proper stretching and conditioning.

Cost

  • $59 per camper

EQUIPMENT & UNIFORM REQUESTS

  • Hitting Camp – Bat/Helmet
  • Pitcher / Catcher Camp – Baseball Glove for all campers
  • Pitcher / Catcher Camp – Catchers need to bring catching gear and catchers mitt
  • Baseball Cleats/Shoes
  • Appropriate Baseball Clothing (Pant/Socks, etc)
  • Sunscreen
  • Note: Make sure camper’s name is written on all personal equipment

LUNCH

  • Concession stand will be open for campers to purchase lunch and snacks.

WHEN AND WHERE DO WE CHECK IN?
Check-in for the Skills Camp will be on Monday (6/15) from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM at the Saint Stanislaus Baseball Field.

Check-in for the Pitcher / Catcher Camp will be on Wednesday (6/24) from 8:30 AM to 9:00 PM at the Saint Stanislaus Baseball Field.

All baseball camps are held at the varsity baseball field of Saint Stanislaus. It is located just northwest of our main campus at the intersection of Bookter St and S Necaise Ave in Bay St. Louis. You will enter through the gates on Bookter St.

WHERE IS THE CAMP BEING HELD?

IS THERE SEATING FOR FAMILY MEMBERS AND GUESTS?
Yes, the field has metal bleachers. Family members may bring portable chairs to the complex.

MAY I BRING MY OWN FOOD AND DRINK FOR CAMPERS OR MYSELF?

Yes

ARE SMOKING OR ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ALLOWED?

No alcohol or tobacco products are allowed on the Saint Stanislaus facilities. Failure to abide by this rule will result in ejection from the fields.

WILL FIRST AID STAFF BE PRESENT?

Yes, a first aid team will be on hand to handle any emergencies or routine medical needs.

HOW IS AGE DETERMINED?
In order to be eligible for this camp, all campers must be 5 years old by the first day of camp for the skills camp. Campers must be 8 years old by the first day of camp for the hitting camp and the pitcher / catcher camp. Any camper turning 16 or older on or before the first day of camp may not participate in this camp.

ARE PARENTS/FAMILIES ALLOWED TO WATCH CAMP SESSIONS?
Yes, parents and family members are welcome to watch camp sessions.

ARE CAMPERS ALLOWED TO BRING PERSONAL PROPERTY AND ELECTRONICS?
Yes, however, Saint Stanislaus Baseball Camp will not be responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged items. Instructors have the authority to request an item if used inappropriately during camp.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE EVENT OF RAIN OR COLD WEATHER?

In case of rain, we will move the camp indoors to the Blaize Gymnasium and/or into our Hitting Complex. In case of cold weather, we ask that campers dress warmly as we will practice outside.

HOW DO YOU MANAGE AN INJURY OR OTHER EMERGENCY?

In the event of an injury or other emergencies, a trainer will provide an initial evaluation and recommend that the camper resume playing, rest, or be sent to a local medical facility for a more detailed evaluation.

WHERE IS THE CLOSEST HOSPITAL?

Ochsner Medical Center – Hancock is 2.5 miles from the Saint Stanislaus campus. Parents are notified immediately if a camper needs to be transported to the hospital.

WHAT ARE YOUR PAYMENT POLICIES FOR CAMPS?
Payment in full must be received prior to the opening of camp.

WHAT ARE YOUR REFUND POLICIES FOR CAMPS?
All camp payments are non-refundable, with the exception of refunds pursuant to inclement weather-related cancellation of the camp.

COVID-19 PROTECTION PLAN
While our camp registration fee is non-refundable, we are offering our parents the COVID-19 protection plan. If camp is closed during the camp(s) you selected due to COVID-19, the registration fee will be refunded less a $10.00 processing fee.
