Resident Life

Aurelian Hall

Aurelian Hall, which is the building that houses all of our boarders, is divided into 4 residence halls: Blanchard, Carnovale, Martin, and Scafide. Each hall serves a specific range of grade levels with Scafide Hall housing our Intensive Program which is designed to help students who require more structure and personal attention. Our boarders live together with their prefects whose offices and bedrooms are located at the end of each hallway. This community style of living is not unlike that of a large family, and our boarders come to see the dormitory as a home away from home. Another advantage of dorm life at Saint Stanislaus is the opportunity our boarders have to form lasting friendships with students from diverse cultural backgrounds, an experience that they are not able to get anywhere else.  Photos of Aurelian Hall dormitory

After-school Activities

We strongly encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities because we believe such participation is essential for the total development of each student. As a member of the MHSAA, Saint Stanislaus competes inter-scholastically in 14 sports including football, soccer, basketball, baseball, sailing and our lacrosse team belongs to the Louisiana High School Lacrosse League. In addition to sports, we offer 19 clubs and organizations in which we encourage our boys to participate. Aside from extracurricular activities, boarding students have access to the school’s two basketball gyms, weight room, swimming pool, rec hall, and 1,000-foot fishing pier during designated times. Because Saint Stanislaus is situated near downtown Bay St. Louis, boarders also have the opportunity to visit various shops and restaurants that are located within walking distance of the campus.

Weekend Activities

Situated 60 miles from New Orleans on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Saint Stanislaus offers our boarding students a variety of cultural and recreational activities on the weekend. Friday nights are usually reserved for school events such as football games, basketball games, and school dances, while Saturdays are reserved for off-campus activities. Sundays are typically less-structured to give the boys an opportunity to relax. Another key feature of our weekends is weekly Mass, which we attend at one of the local parishes. Finally, we end our weekends with a study hall on Sunday evening to help our boys prepare for the upcoming week of class. Weekend activities include the following:

  • Waterskiing
  • Ice skating
  • Escape Room
  • New Orleans Pelicans basketball games
  • Paintball
  • Family-friendly Mardi Gras parades
  • Bowling
  • Trampoline Park
  • Canoeing
  • Indoor Rock Climbing
  • Biloxi Shuckers minor league baseball games
  • Swamp Tours
