MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2023

Please stand for our morning prayer

We remember that we are in the presence of God.

Let us pray together as a school community in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Generous God, who owns everything and gives good gifts to your children, help me be generous like you. Compassionate Lord, who empathizes with those who suffer, help me feel the pain of those who have nothing. Source of Wisdom, help me navigate the many opportunities to get involved and follow your lead to where you would have me participate in fighting poverty. Help me say “no” to what you would have me bypass, and help me say “yes” to any and all opportunities that come from you. Amen.

St. Stanislaus, pray for us.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Will everyone please join me as we recite together the Pledge of Allegiance.

“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands,  one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

Please remain standing until the dress and grooming check have been completed. Teachers, please make sure cell phones are turned in.

Food Donations

The Hancock County Food Pantry is in need of our support as they serve local families who are in need.  Every small contribution can make a big difference. Even sacrificing one hamburger from Wendy’s can help feed families in our community.  Let’s come together and show our compassion and solidarity by supporting the Hancock County Food Pantry as they serve our community.

Feast of St. Stanislaus

Please check your email for important information about free dress for this Friday’s feast of Saint Stanislaus events.

As part of the service project for this Friday, some of you will leave campus and some will stay on campus to participate in projects for the community.  One of those projects will be to make Blessing Bags to be handed out to the homeless or those in need in our community.  Please bring in any travel size toiletries such as shampoo, toothpaste and soap.  We will also place in the bags socks and gloves to help those in need to stay warm in the cold weather.  If you bring any of these needed items, please bring them to Mrs. Tusa’s room, room 250, no later than Thursday afternoon.

Klagetoh Mission Trip

Next week at SSC we will have a special week of “Kicks for Klagetoh.”  If you pay $5.00 to your first period teacher on Monday, you will be able to wear non-uniform shoes all week.  There are some restrictions, no sandals (or any other open-toed shoes), no crocks, and no slippers.   So get out your cowboy boots, your hey dudes, or your Air Jordans and help raise money for our Klagetoh missionaries.

Quote of the Day

The quote of the day comes from St. Peter Claver – “To love God as He ought to be loved, we must be detached from all temporal love.  We must love nothing but Him, or if we love anything else, we must love it only for His sake.”

Thanks for your attention. Ametur Cor Jesu!
