Athletic Results

The junior high baseball teams swept a pair of games against Long Beach last night.  SSC won the B game 9-4. Caleb Darby was the winning pitcher striking out 5. Caleb and Brody Bourgeois both had hits. Brody, Caleb, Trent Powell, Lew Monti and Jentry Wedworth each had an RBI. SSC won the A game 2-1. Jackson Orozco was the winning pitcher giving up just 2 hits while striking out 11. Cayden Williams led the team with 2 hits including a double. Cannon Favret ended the game with an outstanding play and threw to Sutton Reinike at second to get the final out.

The junior high track and field team competed last night in Picayune against a field of much larger schools. All of the throwers performed well. Solid performances on the track were turned in by Will Compretta, Nathan Guidry, and Fisher Smith, who all ran in for events. Nicolas Hebert also turned in a gritty performance in the 2 mile run.  The highlight of the day came in the meet’s last event, the 4 x 4 relay.  William McElroy, Nathan Guidry, Fisher Smith, and Will Compretta ran a great race, finishing third at the line in a close finish. It was a great way to end the meet.  Way to go junior high running Rocks.
