Rocks Receive Recognition

The Rock-A-Chaws football team ended their 2023 season with a record of 9-2 and secured the district championship. The coaches in Region 8-3A acknowledged the team’s success by awarding the Rock-A-Chaws with 11 All-District selections, the most in the district, and three Player of the Year awards.

Overall Player of the Year
Senior Ian Gonzalez Rioz threw for more than 1,800 yards and 18 touchdowns, rushed for 1,431 yards, and scored 17 rushing touchdowns, including a game-winning kick return against Crystal Springs in the first round of the playoffs.

Defensive Player of the Year
Jacob Bradford completed his career as the all-time sack leader for the Rock-A-Chaws with an impressive record of 100 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, and seven sacks this season. Bradford has committed to Louisiana Tech.  

Special Teams Player of the Year
Junior Evan Noel made eight field goals this season, launched 49 kickoffs for touchbacks, and landed nine of his 22 punts inside the 20-yard line. Noel has committed to the University of Arkansas and is ranked as the top kicker in the class of 2025.
