Athletic Results
The varsity baseball Rocks fell to South Jones last night 11-7. Starting pitcher Dawson Strong allowing four runs and striking out four batters. Keaton Cunningham pitched four-innings of relief allowing no earned runs and striking out five. Leading hitters were Trace Rhodes with two hits, Thomas Williams added a double and Corban O’Bannon, Tristan Bush, and Ethan McNeill all added a hit.

The 9th grade baseball team split a pair of games with East Central last night. The Rocks lost the first game 4-0, but Brandon Rhodes pitched a complete game striking out three. Brody Blaker had the lone hit for the Rocks in game one. In game two, the Rocks came out strong and won by a score of 11-5. Brody Blaker had two hits and a RBI and was joined by Ethan Jacobi, Tanner Reinike, and Jackson LeBlanc who also got hits. Jackson Montjoy was hit by pitch three times, but led the Rocks in on base percentage for the night. The 9th grade team will take on George County this Thursday in a doubleheader at home. Come out and support your baseball Rocks.
Athletic Events
The junior varsity and varsity tennis teams will play matches today against Ocean Springs at Diamondhead beginning at 5:00 PM.

Quiz Bowl
Congratulations to the Academic Quiz Bowl team for winning all three regular rounds against St. Pat’s, Biloxi, and Gulfport. The MVP was Ethan Theobald. In the Lighting round, SSC beat St. Pat’s 9 to 8. The lightning round MVP was Houston Holman. The B team came in 3rd overall. Good job!

League of Legends
Today the SSC League of Legends team – The Rockachaw Legends – will compete in their first eSports match against the Hancock High School Hawks – Dalek Division. Games are played every Tuesday and Thursday at 4:00 PM and will be streamed on Twitch. Best of luck to our starters: Zach Whitley, Yida Sun, Karl Legere, Jeremy Li, and Nick Sullivan.

Volunteers Needed
The Buddy Ball Baseball program is looking for volunteers. Opening day is Wednesday, March 20th, at 5:30 PM at the Gulfport Sportsplex. A volunteer orientation is scheduled for Wednesday, March 13th, at 5:00 PM at the Sportsplex. Games will be every Wednesday at 5:30 PM at the Sportsplex through the end of May. If you are interested in volunteering please get a form from Ms. Gagnet. After you complete the volunteer form, return it to Charlie Whaley, Isabel Wolf or Victoria Wolf.

Ocean Science and Technology Camp
Mr. Hoffer has information on an Ocean Science and Technology Camp being sponsored by the University of Southern Mississippi – Gulf Coast campus. The camp is one week long and is being offered for students in grades 9-12. Interested students should see Mr. Hoffer in the Guidance Office.
Those Tennis team members being dismissed at 3:00 PM should see Coach McRaney at his office in the Blaize gym to pick up their tennis gear that was ordered. Others should come immediately after the 3:30 bell.
