Please stand for our morning prayer.
We remember that we are in the presence of God.
Let us pray together as a school community in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Almighty God, you are busy holding the whole world together, but you still have time for us. Help us to make time for you. Jesus tells us, “I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will enter his house and dine with him, and he with me” (Revelation 3:20). Help us keep these words in mind during these weeks of Advent since they tell us plainly how much Jesus loves us and wants to make his home in our hearts.
We ask all these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
In the name of the Father, and the of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Saint Stanislaus, pray for us.
Will everyone please join me as we recite together the Pledge of Allegiance.
“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
Please remain standing until the dress and grooming check have been completed.
Next Tuesday we will have our Advent Mass at OLG church before 1st period. Please remember to wear your oxford shirt and tie for this Mass.
All library accounts must be cleared by this Friday for students to take exams. A list of students that need to clear their accounts is posted on the Activities Board. Students will not be allowed to check out books this week, but you can again next week to have books for exams or the upcoming break. Please see Ms. Brannin if you have any questions.
As you may have noticed the weather has turned a lot colder. We are lucky, we just pull out jackets and sweatshirts, maybe put an extra blanket on our beds, and carry on. Imagine if you didn’t have a coat to put on, or a nice cozy bed to sleep in, or even a good PAIR OF SOCKS to keep your feet warm. That is the reality for many of the people SSC helps to feed at King’s Kitchen. We can change that. This week the Senior class will be collecting socks to donate to King’s Kitchen. Any kind of new socks are welcome-men’s or ladies. You can drop them off in Ms. Gagnet’s room or give them to any senior. Let’s see if we can collect 100 pairs of socks in three days!! We are making a difference at King’s Kitchen in providing people with hot meals and conversation, now let’s help keep them warm. Go Rocks!
There will be a meeting for anyone interested in trying out for junior varsity/varsity baseball on Friday morning December 7th at 8:00 AM in Room 251. If you have questions see Coach Logan or Coach Corley.
Each day next week, Key Club will be accepting donations from first period classes to raise money to buy Christmas trees for families who cannot afford one. The goal is to collect at least $30 from each first period class. Please consider donating at some point next week.
Students, please check the Activities Board for upcoming activities and volunteer opportunities.
The lunch for today is shrimp creole; buffalo chicken sandwich; or buffalo chicken salad.
Today is the birthday of 9th grader Jackson LeBlanc. Happy birthday Jackson! Have a great day.
Quote of the Day
Today’s words of wisdom come from Albert Pike, who observed: “What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.”
Thanks for your attention. Ametur Cor Jesu!
