Baseball Camp – June 2021

The Saint Stanislaus Baseball Camp is a great place for any young baseball player who is looking to improve his or her skills, work hard, make new friends. and have fun.

Our baseball camps are comprised of three sessions.
Skills Camp – Tue, Jun 1 to Fri, Jun 4 | 9:00 am to 12:00 pm | $149.00
Players will focus on fundamental baseball skills including hitting, fielding, throwing, position play & baserunning.

Hitting Camp – Wed, Jun 23 & Thu, Jun 24 | 9:00 am to 12:00 pm | $99.00
Players will work on hitting mechanics – stance, proper load, weight transfer, swing path, and more.

The hitting camp was originally scheduled for June 7 & June 8, but was postponed due to inclement weather.

Pitching & Catching Camp – Wed, Jun 9 & Thu, Jun 10 | 9:00 am to 12:00 pm | $99.00
Pitchers will be tutored on mechanics, throwing, and arm care. Catchers will work on receiving, blocking, and throwing.

Skills session is designed specifically for 5 to 10-year-olds (M/F). Hitting Camp and Pitching & Catching Camp is for 8 to 14-year-olds (M/F).

Campers may sign up for one, two, or all three sessions. Discounts available for more than one session.

Our experience staff are trained in the proper techniques of teaching the fundamentals of baseball. Staff will focus on the insights of the game, proper technique, and fun. We strive to provide personal attention and instruction for every camper.

HITTRAX – TAKING YOUR GAME TO ANOTHER LEVEL

All campers will be able to take their game to a higher level by the use of HitTrax. HitTrax is an interactive real-time metrics software designed specifically for baseball hitters, pitchers, and catchers. Saint Stanislaus is the first high school in Mississippi to integrate the cutting-edge technology. Each camper’s information and progress is stored in the program and allows coaches and players themselves to an analyze their practices and focus on areas in which they need to improve

Coach Brad Corley joined the Saint Stanislaus baseball coaching staff in 2015. Prior to joining Saint Stanislaus, Coach Corley played professional baseball in the Pittsburgh Pirate organization (2005 – 2009) as an outfielder and pitched in the Colorado Rockies organization (2009-2011). After his baseball career, Coach Corley joined Gulfport High School as their pitching coach for three seasons before becoming the hitting coach at Saint Stanislaus. In May of 2020, Coach Corley was named the head Varsity Baseball Coach.

Coach Nathan Encrapera is the pitching coach for the baseball team and varsity football coach. He joined the Saint Stanislaus staff in 2009. On the diamond, he has been a part of five Region 8-4A titles with two South State Championship appearances and the 2015 State Championship.

Coach Irby Dossett joined the Saint Stanislaus baseball staff in 2020 after a long and distinguished baseball career in high school and college.

Coach Robinson joined the Saint Stanislaus baseball coaching staff in 2019. He previously served as the assistant varsity coach at St. Vincent – St. Mary High School in Akron, OH. During his tenure with St. Vincent – St. Mary High School, the team made a state final four appearance.

Braxton Lee
Free Agent Outfielder
Draft: 2014, Tampa Bay
MLB Debut: 3/30/2018

Lee attended PIcayune High School and played college baseball at Pearl River Community College and the University of MS. He was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 12th round of the 2014 MLB Draft. The Marlins added Lee to their 2018 Opening Day 25-man roster. He became a free agent on November 2, 2020.

Focus on the fundamentals of hitting including swing mechanics, plate coverage drills, approach to the plate, mental hitting drill, and live hitting.

We will teach the fundamentals of pitching and catching. Focus will be on the mechanics and skills necessary to pitch and catch with confidence. Our pitchers drills include mechanics, mental approach, secondary pitches, and fielding practice. Our catching drills include set-up and stance, receiving & blocking, throwing, mental approach, communication & sign giving.

All baseball camps are held at the varsity baseball field of Saint Stanislaus. It is located just northwest of our main campus at the intersection of Bookter St and S Necaise Ave in Bay St. Louis. You will enter through the gates on Bookter St.

CHECK-IN

WHEN AND WHERE DO WE CHECK IN?
Check-in for the Skills Camp will be on Tuesday (6/1) from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM at the Saint Stanislaus Baseball Field.

Check-in for the Hitting Camp will be on Monday (6/7) from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM. Check-in for Pitching & Catching Camp will be Wednesday (6/9) from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM. Check-in is conducted at the Saint Stanislaus Baseball Field.

IS THERE SEATING FOR FAMILY MEMBERS AND GUESTS?
Yes, the field has metal bleachers. Family members may bring portable chairs to the complex.

MAY I BRING MY OWN FOOD AND DRINK FOR CAMPERS OR MYSELF?
Yes

ARE SMOKING OR ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ALLOWED?
No alcohol or tobacco products are allowed on the Saint Stanislaus facilities. Failure to abide by this rule will result in ejection from the fields.

WILL FIRST AID STAFF BE PRESENT?
Yes, a first aid team will be on hand to handle any emergencies or routine medical needs.

ARE PARENTS/FAMILIES ALLOWED TO WATCH CAMP SESSIONS?
Yes, parents and family members are welcome to watch camp sessions.

ARE CAMPERS ALLOWED TO BRING PERSONAL PROPERTY AND ELECTRONICS?
Yes, however, Saint Stanislaus Baseball Camp will not be responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged items. Instructors have the authority to request an item if used inappropriately during camp.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE EVENT OF RAIN OR COLD WEATHER?
In case of rain, we will move the camp indoors to the Blaize Gymnasium and/or into our Hitting Complex. In case of cold weather, we ask that campers dress warmly as we will practice inside.

HOW DO YOU MANAGE AN INJURY OR OTHER EMERGENCY?
In the event of an injury or other emergencies, a trainer will provide an initial evaluation and recommend that the camper resume player, rest, or be sent to a local medical facility for a more detailed evaluation.

WHERE IS THE CLOSEST HOSPITAL?
Ochsner Medical Center – Hancock is 2.5 miles from the Saint Stanislaus campus. Parents are notified immediately if a camper needs to be transported to a hospital.

registration & refund policies

WHAT ARE YOUR PAYMENT POLICIES FOR CAMPS?
Payment in full must be received prior to the opening of camp.

WHAT ARE YOUR REFUND POLICIES FOR CAMPS?
All camp payments are non-refundable, with the exception of refunds pursuant to inclement weather-related cancellation of the camp.

COVID-19 PROTECTION PLAN
While our camp registration fee is non-refundable, we are offering our parents the COVID-19 protection plan. If camp is closed during the camp(s) you selected due to COVID-19, the registration fee will be refunded less a $10.00 processing fee.
